Qualche anno fa uno dei successi estivi del pop italiano fu “Dammi tre parole”…ieri mi sono rimasti impressi vari casi di “dammi tre lettere”, tutti legati -credo- da un’idea di semplificazione della comunicazione.
Un noto corriere nazionale (di cui faremo il nome, tanto non ci pagano lo stesso perché questo blog non è commerciale e se no non si capisce): Bartolini…hanno deciso di ribattezzarsi in BRT.
Poi avevo appuntamento a pranzo a Firenze nei pressi di un locale (di cui faremo il nome, tanto non ci pagano lo stesso perché questo blog non è commerciale e se no non si capisce): il Tenax, la cui insegna è un TNX metallico.
Insomma ho detto: vedi, prima o poi c’è una certa linea per cui si arriva a tre lettere a partire da qualcosa di più lungo, in genere levando le vocali.
Se penso a fasi di creazione di nomi per progetti che ho visto nascere, quando fu battezzata la BuioMetria Partecipativa, le si affiancò anche l’abbreviazione (BMP), ma lì non era lo stesso, perché il nome lungo rimane sempre…semplicemente si pensò che ci sono contesti in cui sta bene il nome lungo, e altri in cui sta bene il nome corto.
Poi mi vengono in mente sigle celebri: DNA, TNT, JFK ecc … non so, non è un discorso chiuso, ma si capisce che tre lettere, nell’universo delle abbreviazioni, sono quelle più potenti. Purché non siano semplificazioni. La semplificazione eccessiva a volte complica le cose, dopo un po’.
