In a nutshell

My educational background is in environmental and land planning engineering (MS 1993), and hydrology (PhD 1997), with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems and environmental databases.

In parallel, since 1986 I have been actively interested in music, which I eventually started to use as an element of my activities around 2006, an lately with an innovative project called the Metalliferous Hills Jug Band.

Since 1982 I have been using information and communication technologies. Since 1994 these are my primary working tool.

In 1998 I started to investigate the relationship between people and technologies (and especially information technologies). In the development of such topics, since 2006 I started to propose activities with an increasingly growing component of citizen participation, applied to cultural, environmental, and open innovation issues, with a focus on lesser known resources.

In time, this line of activity has translated into promotion and protection of rural areas, with projects concerning consulting, education and communication. These are developed in collaboration with a network of other professionals.

I am an Italian citizen, but since 1967 I had experiences abroad, mostly for professional reasons. For the period I spent in Italy, since 1993 I have been working mainly for international projects.

In 2011 I relocated in Southern Tuscany, from where my family is originally from.
