The pibinko.org network is composed by pibinko and various subjects (see this link for a non-exhaustive list in time). The network works on projects which are documented on the pibinko.org site. Namely, networked activities started around Fall 2006. These projects focus on the protection and promotion of lesser-known assets in the fields of culture, environment, and open innovation. We have a priority on rural areas.
Our activities take place as interdisciplinary services which we propose as a combination of professionals and small local organizations, although we collaborate also with much larger institutions, both in Italy (where we are based), and abroad, as show in https://www.pibinko.org/services/. This work has led to results which in time have been considered interesting, and often original (see https://www.pibinko.org/effects-of-the-pibinko-org-network/ )
Since March 2019 a second web site has been opened to present the work of the Jug Band Colline Metallifere (Metalliferous Hills Jug Band). This site focuses on musical and music-related aspects of the network since Nov. 2018, while the main site covers all other aspects.
In October 2025 we have added two new domains:
- https://www.unirural.org – for activities related to non-formal education by the network
- htps://www.mappare.org – for participatory mapping initiatives.
At the beginning of 2026 we have registered some geographic domains to provide some highlights about our home area (Maremma and the Metalliferous Hills), always reminding that we operate on a wider scale:https://www.pibinko.org/places/.
