After the Bellafreddi trail we switch back from places to people with another one of the guests i for the first cross-border Maremme hiking festival. We are talking about Stefano Mecorio, olive oil maker, journalist, and author of “sentimental” hiking guides.
Stefano runs his olive oil press in Farnese, but is also a relentless hiker and one of the founder of the Consortium of independent hikers. His guides are a pleasent and mindful point of view on the meaning of hiking. He hiked with Irene Pellegrini from Farnese to Latera to guide her in the writing of A piedi nel far west and 111 luoghi delle maremme che devi proprio scoprire. In Rocchette di Fazio he will talk of his vision about hiking and walking.

The festival comes from an idea by Irene Pellegrini –travel and migration sociologist, hiking guide, and writer- who also acts as the festival director. The event is supported by municipality of Semproniano, the social promotion association La Piazzoletta, Sentieri Liberi – Murci and by the pibinko.org network.
