After wading through “phase 1” of the COVID-19 crisis in Italy with the launch of Participatory Lithology, we are glad to invite you for an online event we will be hosting on Saturday, May 16. There will a geoparty with the artists which have been animating in different ways our weeks since March 21, in their role as entertainers for our little resilience exercise started from Tatti, Southern Tuscany, and gradually engaging people from seven Italian regions.
Before the show, there will be a brief introduction to present the project: who are we? why did we start such a story in such a peculiar moment? what would we like to see happening in the near future? Is Elvis alive?
There will also be some updates on other historical initiatives by the pibinko.org network

The language of the event is TBD. It will reasonably be partly in Italian, but some form of English version will be considered, and we are evaluating also other languages in relation to our geographies of interest.
Between March 21 and April 30, 2020, with the Jug Band Colline Metallifere and some colleagues we produced six videos, proposing different examples of “geomusica”. With an outlook toward the mid-May Participatory Lithology event [1], we would like you to help us create the Lith’ Parade. This like a hit parade related to the first phase of our little participatory exercise on lithology. Below you find the videos listed by publication date. You can provide input on your preferred song by adding a comment at the end of this article [2].
By the way: if you like these videos, you can leave something in the Jug Band C.M.’s “digital hat“. The JBCM will distribute the amount resulting by May 15 evenly between the artists and the support staff who worked on these productions.

This was the first song which came to Jack O’Malley’s mind during the Participatory Lithology planning phase (March 15-20) to give a mood to the project. It was subsequently used as a base for the first rhyming presentation of the project, performed by Francesco Ceri from Matti delle Giuncaie. Starting form May 3, you can vote for Francesco’s song in the the Lith Parade, from which we will create a chart of the six geomusical songs produced by Jug Band Colline Metallifere & friends during Phase 1. Vin Diesel could not stand all of it, and left the theatre as he was too impressed. Jason Statham, with all his “transporter” experience, did a bit better, but still he closed his eyes on some of the turns.

“rèlli” is the way an Italian would spell the world “rally” as pronounced by a lot of Italians (which is different than mother-tongue English speakers pronounce it). Explaining why we like using mis-spelled English words is out of the scope of this post, but we might come back later on this topic.
